Last call to register for DKE events at Homecoming next weekend to celebrate Rho’s 160th Anniversary. So far 215 people are attending various DKE events throughout the weekend, with 125 planning to attend the 160th Anniversary Dinner on Saturday night.
We need to place the food and beverage order with Catering on Monday, so please register now!
Welcome home! The newly renovated DKE House greeted dozens of Rho DKE collegians to campus this past weekend.
The schedule of events includes a golf outing, dedication ceremony with President Byerly, Oktoberfest, and the 160th Anniversary dinner. Families and friends are welcome at each event except for the annual meeting of the Rho House Association. The registration page has details. If we do not hit our minimum attendees for each event by October 7th, we’ll be canceling the specific events where we fall short of our minimum attendees.
We’re also offering Rho DKE gear commemorating our 160th Anniversary. Again, if we don’t hit our minimum numbers for a specific item, we’ll be canceling that item’s order.
The Rho House Association is looking forward to seeing many Rho Dekes celebrate this significant milestone in our chapter’s illustrious history. In the meantime, please enjoy the photos made available on Flickr by the College’s photographer, Chuck Zovko.
It is hard to believe it was just over a year ago that we hosted the ground breaking ceremony for this exciting renovation.
The fall 2015 edition of the Rho News (click here for PDF) was distributed via the College via e-mail and direct mail this week.
This issue focuses on the significant accomplishment of renovating the DKE House at Lafayette College. It also introduces the events the Rho House Association has planned to commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon during Homecoming (October 16-17). Other highlights include features of our collegiate’s accomplishments, new careers, and an update from the Class of ’86.
If you haven’t yet made your gift or pledge in honor of DKE’s 160th Anniversary at Lafayette College, please do so now. Gifts are fully tax deductible and may be spread over up to five years, but you need to make your gift or pledge before October 1st to be included in the recognition materials for the 160th Anniversary. In addition to a plaque in the DKE House recognizing leadership gifts, every donor will be recognized in the program for the 160th Anniversary Dinner. Just say “DKE 160” in the memo line of your gift.
We still need $160,000 to fully fund our share of the DKE House renovation. Make your gift to be a part of this exciting chapter in our fraternity’s storied history.
Our friends at the College sent new photos of construction progress at the DKE House. What a great way to start the week!
Over 150 Rho Dekes, family, and friends have supported the campaign so far. Please join us by making a tax deductible gift or pledge today towards our 160th Anniversary Campaign by visiting Leopard Link and putting “For DKE 160th” in the comments. Making a five year pledge by June 30th will maximize the impact of your gift.
For gifts of stock and other questions, contact Tommaso Marsella ’06 in the Development Office at 610.330.5573.
“You’ll all be happy to know the [toilets] are even more fraternal than before.” comments a Rho Deke Reunion 2015 correspondent during the tour of the DKE House Renovations to commemorate our 160th Anniversary. He sends the accompanying photo.
We have arranged a tour of the DKE House for interested alumni on Saturday, June 6th during reunion. Because it will still be an active construction site during reunion, space is limited. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in reserving a space on the tour.
As of early May, the following Rho Dekes are registered with the College to attend reunion this year:
Ed McNally ’65
John Krah ’75

Gary Schaeffer ’75

Scott Harris ’95
David Kiefer ’95
J. Bayard Smith ’95
Alex Dippel ’96
Jonathon Jaye ’10
Ryan Simmons ’10
To register, follow this link to the College’s website, or contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (610) 330-5040 or email@example.com.

Construction is still on track for completion this summer. Todd Wiltshire ’86, who received a recent tour, reports that the kitchen is a huge upgrade and the light that now comes into the 3rd floor from the new cupola is amazing. The Rho House Association is investigating the possibility of tours for alumni during reunion on June 6th, 2015.
If you haven’t already lent your support towards this exciting campaign commemorating our 160th anniversary, please make a gift today!
President Alison Byerly and DKE brothers Michael De Lisi ’03 and Trustee J.B. Reilly ’83 led a groundbreaking ceremony during Reunion Weekend 2014 to renovate the DKE House. DKE announced that the renovation will include all alternates under consideration including key additions of a solarium and a cupola, thanks to the College keeping their investment in DKE fixed, passing all project cost savings on to DKE, and a recent generous gift putting DKE fundraising over a million dollars to date with $250k more to go to fully fund the renovation.
Scores of Rho Dekes from the ‘50s through 2015 were joined by many friends of DKE including family, fellow alumni, trustees, campus administrators, and a representative from DKE International. This event capped a beautiful reunion weekend.
Check out pictures of the event at the College’s flickr page.
Thank you to all supporters of this project, which marks a watershed moment in DKE and Lafayette College history. If you haven’t lent your support towards this cause, make a gift or multi-year pledge today!
