ATTIC Partnership

In the Summer of 2011, the Rho House Association reached out to Lafayette College’s Academic Tutoring and Training Information Center (ATTIC) about services they offer that could benefit not just DKE students, but all students in Greek Life at Lafayette College.

Beginning in the Fall of 2011, ATTIC provided a time management seminar for students joining DKE. We believe this model will help prepare new members for their increased commitments upon joining a Greek organization. We encourage our peer Greek Life organizations to engage ATTIC as well. DKE alumni are working with ATTIC and DKE students to better integrate ATTIC’s offerings into DKE’s member development programs.

In addition to time management seminars, ATTIC provides DKE students peer tutors and one-on-one study skill sessions. ATTIC is unable to provide Greek Life organizations midterm grades for our members because that program is available exclusively for athletes. Fortunately, Celestino Limas (VP of Campus Affairs & Senior Diversity Officer) and Stuart Umberger (Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life) are working to obtain midterm grades for members of DKE. Upon receiving midterm grades, alumni can provide our student members the support they deserve and ensure they are taking full advantage of the academic support services ATTIC offers.

The DKE partnership with ATTIC has the potential to serve as a model for the entire Greek Life community at Lafayette College. They are a key resource for us to build a culture of academic performance and intellectual development in our Greek Life chapters, specifically DKE.
