Fletcher Thomson ‘98 wins $50 million verdict for CT client

July 30th, 2010 by delisim

Our very own Fletcher Thomson ‘98 recently won the Largest jury verdict in CT history for a trade secret case.

The case was also profiled on the Lafayette website with the requisite reference to livestock, albeit unrelated to his victory in court.

Fletch, who previously participated in the DKE Speakers Bureau, is planning on returning to campus on October 15 ahead of Homecoming weekend to discuss his experiences. What a great way to kickoff the 155th anniversary!

Job Openings

July 28th, 2010 by delisim

Several alumni have requested a way to post job opportunities for recent DKE graduates. We created a thread for this on our private forums . You’ll need to register to receive access. Make sure you answer the anti-spam question at the very bottom of the registration page. The question is “What fraternity are you a member of?” Hopefully everyone remembers that much.

Homecoming October 24th 2009

October 2nd, 2009 by delisim

A reminder to everyone that Homecoming is on October 24th, 2009. The game against Fordham begins at 1PM.

On Friday night, we invite attendees of the Marquis Founders dinner to a pre-reception at the House beginning at 5PM. Our alumni can then proceed to the dinner together.

Later Friday night, because we are on probation and cannot have social events on campus with alcohol, we are going to Mothers Bar and Grill on the circle in downtown Easton. We encourage alumni to stop by the House before heading down. The undergraduates will provide transportation for any alumni who require it.

On Saturday, we will be serving breakfast in the House and there will be tailgating on March Field prior to the game. The annual brothers meeting will be at noon in the living room this year. We will again have a tent up in case of inclement weather and a BBQ for food throughout the grill.

Thomas Neff ‘59 featured in Wall Street Journal

August 14th, 2009 by delisim

Our own Tom Neff ‘59 was recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article on Spencer Stuart’s role as a CEO recruiter.

As for AIG’s CEO assignment, Spencer Stuart was chosen because the recruiters “were already up to speed,” says someone close to the situation.Thomas J. Neff, Spencer Stuart’s 71-year-old U.S. chairman and top CEO recruiter, is a pivotal player. Mr. Neff, who joined the firm in 1976, has handled more than 150 CEO and more than 350 board searches, including the appointments of Boeing Co. CEO Jim McNerney and Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack.

Mr. Neff also helped recruit Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to be president of the New York Federal Reserve in 2003.

Brother Schimmel ‘09 recently asked Lafayette’s archivist to scan in historical DKE photos as well as a high resolution image of our chapter crest. You can view the photo gallery here or via the navigation bar to the right.

There are images of the original Rho News, our old house burning, our current house under construction on March field, the Guernica behind the bar paneling, and many other historic images.

Here’s a little flavor. For more, go to the gallery.
